What Should I Expect At My Ombré Powder Brow Appointment?
The first appointment typically takes 3 hours. In the first session, the brow is shaped and styled to the client’s preference, and pigment is applied. Four to six weeks later, the client may return for the second session for touch up which can take approximately 1.5 hours.
Brow Consultation & Drawing
45 minutes to 1 hour
We understand the ombré powder brow procedure can be daunting and we want to make sure all our clients feel comfortable with their decision. All questions or concerns you might have will be addressed during your consultation.
During your consultation, your specialist will work with you to discuss your goals, lifestyle, shape of your existing brows and the problem areas you wish to address. Bringing reference photos of your desired brow shape is highly recommended and greatly appreciated-Pinterest is our best friend! Your specialist will advise and show examples of brow shapes which will work with each clients face shape and brow type. If you have any questions about which procedure to choose, your specialist can direct you towards the best option for you. If you have any concerns, we will be happy to address them and help you decide on a treatment plan that will work for you.
Step 1: We take photos of your bare brows
Step 2: Then we sanitize the brow area with an alcohol pad
Step 3: Your specialist will then take a photo
Step 4: Then your desired brow shape will be mapped onto your brows using an eyebrow pencil
Step 5: You and your specialist will come to an agreement on your new perfect shape!
Step 6: Photos will be taken and then your brow area will be pre-numbed (you can opt out of this step)
Ombré Powder Brow Procedure Begins
After your 45 min brow mapping and photo taking, we will begin the procedure. The actual inking portion of the procedure takes approximately 1-1.5 hours.
Step 7: First, we outline your brows first and scratch the surface of your brows with our permanent makeup machine, then apply the topical numbing anesthetic gel. The numbing gel takes 10 minutes to settle in.
Step 8: We complete one pass on each side of the brow two-thirds of the way in from the tail towards the head of the brow. This is checkpoint #1. At this point, we will sit you up and show you the initial progress of the brows. This is an important step in the process because our clients always feel much more comfortable and confident once they’ve seen the brow shape and color starting to take form, and they are often relieved to see that it wasn’t as scary as they pictured in their heads! :) This is also an important checkpoint to ensure that the brows are still in perfect measurement.
We will complete the rest of the brows, and sit you up as needed to ensure the best results.
Step 9: Once your brows are complete, you will get one final look and review of your brows. Any final updates will be made at this time. When your brows are perfect, “after” photos will be taken of your new brows, payment will be processed, your touch-up appointment will be scheduled and you will be on our merry way.
Caution! Be prepared for loads of compliments :)
Touch-Up Perfecting Session
The Touch-up session is performed after 6-10 weeks from your initial appointment. At this appointment, your specialist will assess how your skin has healed and will perfect your brows accordingly.
Ombré Powder Brows & Microblading is a semi-permanent procedure. Therefore, it will gradually and naturally fade over time, to varying degrees—this is the nature of this technique. A touch up or "Refresher Session" is can be done to keep your brows looking their best, but we do advise clients to stretch out appointments as long as possible to maintain skin integrity.
